Complaint & Disciplinary Process
The North Dakota Marriage and Family Licensure Board follows the Sanction Matrix Guidelines provided by the Association Of Marital & Family Therapy Regulatory Boards for evaluation and determination of the appropriate response to particular complaints.
NDMFTLB requires any complaints be submitted on a complaint form and reviewed by the board. Complete instructions are available on the form.
Reporting for Adverse Actions
NDMFTLB mandatorily reports any adverse actions to the National Practitioner Data Bank Healthcare Integrity and Protection Data Bank.
Client's Bill of Rights
Consumers of marriage and family therapy services offered by therapists licensed in ND have certain rights, which are specified by Title 111.02.01.05.n

Disciplinary Status
No further disciplinary action as of November 8, 2024. Complaint taken by the Marriage & Family Licensure Board on April 27, 2023 could not be substantiated. Prior disciplinary action was taken on September 11, 2018 and June 24, 2016.
