Applications, Exams, Fees & Accredited Programs
Initial License Application
Complete an application for initial licensure in the State of ND as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT). Also used for upgrading current LAMFT to LMFT.
Renewal Application
Complete an application for renewal of licensure in the State of ND as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT).
National Exam
In order to write the AMFTRB national exam an application for associate licensure in marriage and family therapy in North Dakota must be received and approved. It is offered monthly.
State Exam
Once completing national exam and supervised experience, an applicant may apply for the state exam. Also, through endorsement from another licensing jurisdiction, one may apply for the state exam. Contact NDMFTLB to schedule.
Accredited MFT Academic Programs
Find academic programs which are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).
The COAMFTE reviews and grants accreditation to programs at a Masters, Doctoral, and Post-Degree level that meet or exceed COAMFTE Accreditation Standards.
